7 Skin Care Tips to Make Your Hands Look Younger

Tips to make your hands too younger
We all want to look younger.

We have lots of options to help our faces look younger and that's important since people look directly at our faces everyday.

We can get facials, use anti aging skin care products, or have a little Botox and dermal filler done to keep our faces looking younger. We also have makeup to hide a multitude of sins.

But what about the hands?

I have heard people say, if you want to know how old a person really is, look at their hands. Hands can really show our age with age spots, prominent veins and crepey skin.

The hands receive a lot of sun exposure causing hyperpigmentation and breakdown of collagen. Lasors can help treat the pigmentation if you have some extra money in your beauty budget.

Our skin gets thinner as we age and those blue veins look so much more obvious than when we were younger. It is possible to plump the hands up with dermal filler to hide the veins. It is a temporary pricey endeavour, though.

Then, there is the arthritis causes the joints to swell. Ugh!!!!

What can we do to make our hands look better?

I have a skin care routine with some great tips to make your hands look younger and prettier!

7 Tips to Make Your Hands Look Younger

Wear sunscreen
Wear sunscreen on your hands everyday. We need it the most on the tops of our hands that are so often exposed to the sun daily. It's an area very susceptible to age spots.

Sunscreen is the best anti aging cream there is. It helps keep the sun's UV rays from penetrating the skin and causing damage and pigmentation spots. You may find the spots that you have will lighten a bit when they are continuously shielded from the sun.

Exfoliate
Exfoliate your hands with a sugar scrub once or twice a week to remove the dead cell buildup that makes the skin look dry and dull.

You can also use a facial peel on your hands.

Try getting a manicure at the salon that includes a peel. Professional peels are a higher strength than products for home use.

Lighten Dark Spots
Use a dark spot corrector treatment products to lighten sun spots.
Admire my Skin Ultra Brightening Serum

Try Admire My Skin Ultra-Potent Brightening Serum. It helps fade dark spots with 2% Hydroquinone, Kojic Acid, Vitamin C, Salicylic Acid, Azelaic Acid, and Lactic Acid.

Moisturize, Moisturize, Moisturize
Apply hand lotion or hand cream frequently throughout the day.

It not only hydrates, the massage you give your hands as you apply your hand cream or lotion is great for stimulating circulation. Better blood flow = better skin color!
Dr Teal's Coconut Oil Body Lotion

Dr Teal's Coconut Oil Body Lotion
I love this lotion. It feels good on the skin and heals dry skin with Cocoa Butter, Shea Butter and Vitamin E.

Use a heavy moisturizer or petroleum jelly on your hands at night and then, wear cotton gloves to keep the cream in place. It's an old remedy that works wonders.

Keeping your hands hydrated means keeping them out of water. Excessive water exposure dehydrates the skin. Wear waterproof gloves for cleaning and use cleaning tool that have handles.

Add Some Makeup
Apply a little foundation concoction.  Mix foundation with a bit of hand cream and bronzer. Apply it to the tops of your hands to hide dark spots and the blueness of veins.

The foundation used on the hands will most likely need to be a shade or two darker than the foundation you use on your face.

Be sure to keep it natural looking with just a thin coat.

A CC cream is also a great product to make your hands look pretty and younger.

Medium to Short Nails
Keep your nails a mid length or short in a modern shape either oval or squoval. Avoid pointy nails.

Use Right Polish
Wear nail polish in a color that compliments your skin tone.

Try a medium shade beige pink, rose or coral pink in a cream or soft shimmer finish.

Avoid highly frosted polish.

Hide ridgy nails by applying a ridge filling basecoat before the nail polish.

This is my favorite base coat. It smoothes nail ridges and also adds a soft pearlized finish that looks beautiful on the nails. You can skip color and just add tops coat for a clean natural look.

White Bumps Under Eyes: Milia

Have you noticed that you have little white looking bumps under your eyes? Some people call it chicken skin because the bumps look like plucked chicken skin. 🐔 Most likely those little white bumps are milia. They can feel hard or pearly. These bumps are not acne. Milia can occur when dead skin cells become trapped beneath the outer layer of skin. Keratin becomes trapped and builds up. A small benign cyst can form which is the milia. It's a cyst!?! Don't let that word scare you. They are harmless, but unwanted bumps.  They can occur on any area of the skin that tends to be on the dry side. They cannot be squeezed out like a blackhead or pimple because they have no opening. A layer of skin covers them. A hole must be created in them using a needle, then they can be extracted out. Read more about blackhead, whiteheads and blind pimples This is a common problem for the under-eye area. It is a dry, delicate area of the skin. I see it a lot on my clients. Heavy products

Dermatofibromas

This post is all about dermatofibromas and some remedies to help make them look better and ways hide them. It includes my Amazon Affiliate Links to help you find the products I talk about. Q. I have this brown bump on my leg that won't go away. What can I do about it? A. It could be a dermatofibroma. I see them often on my leg waxing clients. A dermatofibroma is a tan to brown benign raised bump more common in women than men and occur commonly on the legs. The bump feels hard under the skin and can be itchy, tender and easily irritated. A doctor will tell you not to worry about it because it's benign, but it's kind of ugly! Dermatofibromas are also called Benign Fibrous Histiocytomas. They are the result of some sort of injury to the skin such as an ingrown hair or a bug bite.  Be careful when shaving because a dermatofibroma may bleed and become sore if nicked. Don't think you can get rid of it by shaving it off. It will be an awful looking sore and will j
