Get longer lashes with Lash Fibers

long lashes
Long beautiful eyelashes are all the rage. I like enhancing the natural lashes to their full potential instead of relying on falsies or expensive lash extensions. Don't get me wrong, false lashes and lash extensions look fabulous, but I for one, don't like the glue. I find it irritating.

And.... my brides are always worried the lashes will start to unglue before the night is over. It can happen. I even saw lashes come unglued on Dancing with the Stars!

How to Apply Lash Fibers to your Lashes

Start Clean
First, always start with clean lashes. Get rid of any mascara remnants that will interfere with a smooth mascara application. Use an oil free makeup remover and rinse your face for good measure.

Curl 'em
Curl the top lashes with a lash curler. Warm the curler with a blow dryer to get maximum curl that lasts. Test the curler on your wrist to make sure it's not too hot. Curl lashes 3 times with your eyelash curler at the root, the middle and near the ends.

Waterproof Mascara
Use black mascara on the top lashes. Waterproof mascara helps your lashes hold a curl better than non waterproof. My favorite waterproof mascara is Too Faced Better than Sex Waterproof Mascara.

Make the most of your lashes by fanning them out. After curling your top lashes, pull mascara wand out of the tube wiping excess mascara off of the wand onto the opening of the tube. Apply mascara to your outer lashes first directing them toward your temples. Next, apply mascara to the center lashes directing them toward your brows. Finish the top lashes by applying mascara to the inner lashes directing them toward your nose.

Add the Fibers
Add lash fibers to the freshly mascaraed lashes.  You can buy kits that contain a mascara and fibers or just the fibers.

Cherry Blooms, Too Faced Better than False Lashes or Physician's Formula Eye Booster Instant Lash Extension Kit are a few kits.

I find the tube of fibers last much, much longer than the mascara. Any tube of mascara should be used for only 3 months then tossed due to the high probability of bacteria growth. The lash fibers are dry so they are far less likely to grow bacteria so the tube of lash fibers lasts a long time.

Lash fibers can be used with any mascara. Milani Length in Seconds Lash Extensions is a product that is just fibers that you can use with any mascara. I like the Cherry Blooms fibers because they are black. The lash fibers stick to the mascara. Don't over do it. Just a light coating of fibers will do.

More Mascara
Now add a generous second coat of mascara working it in the fanned out directions sealing in the lash fibers. Some of the fibers will come off onto your mascara wand. I like to wipe off the fibers before I put the mascara wand back in the tube. The mascara seems to get dried out faster when the fibers are in the tube.

Let them Dry
Support the lashes with your fingers as the mascara dries for maximum curl.

The Bottom Lashes
Apply a thin coat of black or brown/black mascara to the lower lashes. Just a touch on the bottom lashes to create a balance of color between the top and bottom lashes. We want the top lashes to be the showstoppers.

Now you have comfortable long gorgeous lashes that last all day with no issues! Even through wedding day tears!

White Bumps Under Eyes: Milia

Have you noticed that you have little white looking bumps under your eyes? Some people call it chicken skin because the bumps look like plucked chicken skin. 🐔 Most likely those little white bumps are milia. They can feel hard or pearly. These bumps are not acne. Milia can occur when dead skin cells become trapped beneath the outer layer of skin. Keratin becomes trapped and builds up. A small benign cyst can form which is the milia. It's a cyst!?! Don't let that word scare you. They are harmless, but unwanted bumps.  They can occur on any area of the skin that tends to be on the dry side. They cannot be squeezed out like a blackhead or pimple because they have no opening. A layer of skin covers them. A hole must be created in them using a needle, then they can be extracted out. Read more about blackhead, whiteheads and blind pimples This is a common problem for the under-eye area. It is a dry, delicate area of the skin. I see it a lot on my clients. Heavy products

Dermatofibromas

This post is all about dermatofibromas and some remedies to help make them look better and ways hide them. It includes my Amazon Affiliate Links to help you find the products I talk about. Q. I have this brown bump on my leg that won't go away. What can I do about it? A. It could be a dermatofibroma. I see them often on my leg waxing clients. A dermatofibroma is a tan to brown benign raised bump more common in women than men and occur commonly on the legs. The bump feels hard under the skin and can be itchy, tender and easily irritated. A doctor will tell you not to worry about it because it's benign, but it's kind of ugly! Dermatofibromas are also called Benign Fibrous Histiocytomas. They are the result of some sort of injury to the skin such as an ingrown hair or a bug bite.  Be careful when shaving because a dermatofibroma may bleed and become sore if nicked. Don't think you can get rid of it by shaving it off. It will be an awful looking sore and will j
