Can I use alcohol as a toner?

Q. My skin is breaking out. My friend uses rubbing alcohol on her face as toner. Will it help clear my skin up?

A. Don't do it!

Rubbing alcohol, which is isopropyl alcohol, is not a good toner. It will over dry your skin and create a tough dead cell layer of skin which will actually clog the pores more.

Use a toner containing salicylic acid to gently remove dead skin cells and calm inflammation.

A toner is used after using a facial cleanser to remove any leftover cleanser and treat skin conditions.

White Bumps Under Eyes: Milia

Have you noticed that you have little white looking bumps under your eyes? Some people call it chicken skin because the bumps look like plucked chicken skin. 🐔 Most likely those little white bumps are milia. They can feel hard or pearly. These bumps are not acne. Milia can occur when dead skin cells become trapped beneath the outer layer of skin. Keratin becomes trapped and builds up. A small benign cyst can form which is the milia. It's a cyst!?!
