Lorac Pro Palettes Eye Shadow Palettes

I decided I needed more eye shadow because a girl can never have too much eye shadow and because I'm always looking for pretty colors to use for bridal makeup.

The Lorac Pro Palettes looked good to me. There are 3. The fact that the newest Pro Palette 3 recently hit the shelves made me want to go to Ulta and look at them. Each palette is $44 and each contains 16 shadows which are 8 shimmers and 8 mattes. The mattes are the top row, shimmers are the bottom row.

The colors are basically neutrals like the Urban Decay Naked Palettes. Here they are so you can compare them.

I thought I would be purchasing the new palette 3, but when I saw it in person I realized I had many similar colors in a small Lorac palette. So, it was between the original palette and palette 2. I really like the nectar, plum, navy and charcoal in palette 2 but the rest of the colors also look too much like colors I have. I went with the original Pro Palette. I have to say, I love the colors and have used them to do bridal makeup.

Here are the colors on my arm so you can see how they look on medium beige skin.

I find the colors to be velvety, very pigmented, bright and clear.  The shadow goes on smooth and blends nicely. It is a bit powdery, though, and leaves some fallout that can get in the eyes easily. Using an eye shadow applicator instead of an eye shadow brush should help with the amount of fallout.

Here I used Lt. Pink, Mauve, Black, Nude and Champagne blended for a soft look.  The Champagne has a bit of fine glitter in it. You can see the sparkle at the inner corner of the eye. Espresso and Taupe filled in the brow with smooth color. I also used the black as eye liner.

Here is a warm golden eye. Nude, Lt. Bronze, Gold, Garnet, Sable and Black.

As for wear, I tried the Pro Palette shadow with Urban Decay Primer Potion and had slight fading but no creasing. A small Lorac Behind the Scenes Eye Primer came with the eye shadow palette. I also had slight fading but no creasing when using the Lorac primer.

I noticed it causes my mascara to smudge which is no good. For me, it's not as good as my favorite Urban Decay Primer Potion. I have read that it irritates sensitive eyes and does not work well for some people. It's nice that it comes with the palette to make it easy to try. I never would have purchased it because I am happy with the UD Primer Potion.

I hate to keep comparing the Lorac Pro Palettes to the UD Naked Palettes, but I'm going to compare them once again! The Pro Palette packaging is not as nice as the Naked's watercolor box style packaging.

But, the Pro Palette price is $10 less and you do get 16 colors as opposed to 12 in the Nakeds. Also, no brush is included in the Pro Palette. I like that the packaging is thin and easy to pack in a makeup bag.

Overall, I am happy with the Lorac Pro Palette and recommend it if you are looking for a collection of neutral shadows.

White Bumps Under Eyes: Milia

Have you noticed that you have little white looking bumps under your eyes? Some people call it chicken skin because the bumps look like plucked chicken skin. 🐔 Most likely those little white bumps are milia. They can feel hard or pearly. These bumps are not acne. Milia can occur when dead skin cells become trapped beneath the outer layer of skin. Keratin becomes trapped and builds up. A small benign cyst can form which is the milia. It's a cyst!?! Don't let that word scare you. They are harmless, but unwanted bumps.  They can occur on any area of the skin that tends to be on the dry side. They cannot be squeezed out like a blackhead or pimple because they have no opening. A layer of skin covers them. A hole must be created in them using a needle, then they can be extracted out. Read more about blackhead, whiteheads and blind pimples This is a common problem for the under-eye area. It is a dry, delicate area of the skin. I see it a lot on my clients. Heavy products

Dermatofibromas

This post is all about dermatofibromas and some remedies to help make them look better and ways hide them. It includes my Amazon Affiliate Links to help you find the products I talk about. Q. I have this brown bump on my leg that won't go away. What can I do about it? A. It could be a dermatofibroma. I see them often on my leg waxing clients. A dermatofibroma is a tan to brown benign raised bump more common in women than men and occur commonly on the legs. The bump feels hard under the skin and can be itchy, tender and easily irritated. A doctor will tell you not to worry about it because it's benign, but it's kind of ugly! Dermatofibromas are also called Benign Fibrous Histiocytomas. They are the result of some sort of injury to the skin such as an ingrown hair or a bug bite.  Be careful when shaving because a dermatofibroma may bleed and become sore if nicked. Don't think you can get rid of it by shaving it off. It will be an awful looking sore and will j
