Eye Shadow with Dark Outer Corner & Red Lipstick

We always want to look beautiful when attending a wedding. But sometimes, we want to look showstopping in the perfect sexy backless dress! A sexy dress calls for sexy hair and makeup.

My friend wanted just that for an evening wedding she was attending at The Old Mill in Rose Valley, Pa. She wanted a cat eye with deep red lips and side swept hair.

My favorite eye makeup style is eye shadow that is gradient from light in the inner corners to dark on the outer corners. It's flattering and elegant. Winged cat eye liner adds the drama that is perfect for evening special event makeup.

Either glossy nude or deep red lips are a nice complement for eyes with dark outer corner eye shadow.

I'll give you some tip and some Amazon Affiliate links to find some of my favorite products.

Tips for Applying Eye Shadow with Dark Corners

We started by preparing the skin with toner and moisturizer. I use my YonKa Lotion and my favorite YonKa Creme for Sensitive Skin. I find it's a great cream for every skin type.

A liquid highlighter was applied to the cheeks, bridge of the nose, and chin.

Next, under eye concealer.

Then, a luminous foundation was applied with a brush. Applying foundation with a foundation brush provides nice coverage with a natural finish. The bristles of the brush make blending easy. Makeup brushes can be expensive but there are some decent brush sets available on Amazon at super prices.

For her eyes, I started by priming with Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion. It's simply the best eye shadow primer for holding eye shadow in place with no creasing.

The shadow colors I used came from the Too Faced Natural Love PaletteHeaven, Lace Teddy, Fairy Tale, Satin Sheets, Love Bug, Spoiled, Undercover, Makeup & Chill and Stiletto.

Always start with the lightest colors on the inner corner of the eye lids and the brow bone first. It's easy to go darker but not so easy to go lighter in those areas. I used Lace Teddy then Satin Sheets on the eye lids and Heaven to the brow bone.

Add the darkest color, in this case it's Undercover, to the outermost corner.

Add a color that's a little lighter from the outer corner to the center next. I used Makeup & Chill, Spoiled and Love Bug.

Always blend the colors well with an eyeshadow brush in the center of the eyelid to create a smooth gradient look.

I tapped the glittery Fairy Tale on the inner corners to highlight and add some magical sparkle.

I used both black pencil liner and black felt tip liner. Then set them with Stiletto, the black shadow.

The lashes got 3 coats of black mascara.

Her brows were a bit thin so they were filled in a bit with brown brow powder, then set with brow gel.

A rosy blush, luminous finishing powder and a touch of bronzer added color to her skin.

I lined her lips with an invisible lip liner to create a clear barrier to hold the lipstick in place.

Two lipstick colors created her deep red lip color, a cranberry topped with a plum.

Her dark hair was set in hot rollers.

I did her makeup while the rollers cooled. The hair swept to the side, bobby pinned in place then the curls were fine tuned with a large barrel curling iron at Styling Point in Media, Pa. by Lori.

She looked absolutely stunning! I can't wait to see pictures of her in her dress👗

White Bumps Under Eyes: Milia

Have you noticed that you have little white looking bumps under your eyes? Some people call it chicken skin because the bumps look like plucked chicken skin. 🐔 Most likely those little white bumps are milia. They can feel hard or pearly. These bumps are not acne. Milia can occur when dead skin cells become trapped beneath the outer layer of skin. Keratin becomes trapped and builds up. A small benign cyst can form which is the milia. It's a cyst!?! Don't let that word scare you. They are harmless, but unwanted bumps.  They can occur on any area of the skin that tends to be on the dry side. They cannot be squeezed out like a blackhead or pimple because they have no opening. A layer of skin covers them. A hole must be created in them using a needle, then they can be extracted out. Read more about blackhead, whiteheads and blind pimples This is a common problem for the under-eye area. It is a dry, delicate area of the skin. I see it a lot on my clients. Heavy products

Dermatofibromas

This post is all about dermatofibromas and some remedies to help make them look better and ways hide them. It includes my Amazon Affiliate Links to help you find the products I talk about. Q. I have this brown bump on my leg that won't go away. What can I do about it? A. It could be a dermatofibroma. I see them often on my leg waxing clients. A dermatofibroma is a tan to brown benign raised bump more common in women than men and occur commonly on the legs. The bump feels hard under the skin and can be itchy, tender and easily irritated. A doctor will tell you not to worry about it because it's benign, but it's kind of ugly! Dermatofibromas are also called Benign Fibrous Histiocytomas. They are the result of some sort of injury to the skin such as an ingrown hair or a bug bite.  Be careful when shaving because a dermatofibroma may bleed and become sore if nicked. Don't think you can get rid of it by shaving it off. It will be an awful looking sore and will j
