Bridal Makeup & Country Wedding Decorating Ideas: The Barn on Bridge, Collegeville, PA

sexy pink shoes and summer flowers
I had the pleasure of doing the makeup for a summer country style wedding at The Barn on Bridge, a three level barn venue in Collegeville, Pa. full of rustic elegance.

It turned out to be a rainy day, which wasn't unusual for the summer we've had this year in the Philly area. I think the rain actually gave the wedding an intimate, cozy feeling. The wedding ceremony was supposed to be outside in a grassy area but was held in the tent where the cocktail hour would have normally taken place.

The sound of the rain on the tent adorned with bright, happy sunflowers was
absolutely magical!!!

The Makeup
I did the makeup for the bride, many of her maids, the mother of the bride and the mother of the groom. We did the makeup and hair styling at a nearby hotel in a nice large room with lots of natural light. I always prefer natural light to do bridal makeup or any kind of makeup application.

The bride wanted a soft, fresh look to go with her rustic barn country wedding. Her natural lashes were long and beautiful, but she wanted them to be outstanding. Strip lashes were applied to create drop dead gorgeous eye drama!

Eye shadow in shades of pink, brown and champagne accented her eyes. A soft beige foundation evened out her flushed cheeks and an illuminating finishing powder gave her skin a warm glow. Pink blush, rose lip liner and pink shimmer gloss gave her a soft romantic look. She wore her hair in her signature braided upstyle.

The bridesmaids wore dresses in a soft beige shade. I did their makeup in similar shades to coordinate with the bride and create a cohesive romantic look.

The mother of the bride looked glamorous with makeup in shades of pink to coordinate with her shimmering beaded pink dress.

I used Youngblood CC Perfecting Primer on everyone to create the perfect dewy canvas for smooth foundation application. It's one of my go to products.

The groom, the groomsman and the fathers worn blue suits instead of the typical black and gray suits you usually see at a wedding. I thought the color looked great especially with the sunflower boutonnieres!

Country Wedding Decorating Ideas I just loved!

An adorable baby in a personalized country wedding wagon.  The wreath on her head and her fluffy pink dress.....just precious!

Here's a wagon I saw on Amazon!
The signature cocktail was sangria served in small milk bottles complete with earth friendly paper straws with elegant metallic gold designs.

What a great idea! A wine bottle guests can write on. The natural wood slices added a nice rustic touch to the tables.

The bride and groom dancing on the catwalk in the barn with that lighting was a truly fairy tale moment!

White Bumps Under Eyes: Milia

Have you noticed that you have little white looking bumps under your eyes? Some people call it chicken skin because the bumps look like plucked chicken skin. 🐔 Most likely those little white bumps are milia. They can feel hard or pearly. These bumps are not acne. Milia can occur when dead skin cells become trapped beneath the outer layer of skin. Keratin becomes trapped and builds up. A small benign cyst can form which is the milia. It's a cyst!?! Don't let that word scare you. They are harmless, but unwanted bumps.  They can occur on any area of the skin that tends to be on the dry side. They cannot be squeezed out like a blackhead or pimple because they have no opening. A layer of skin covers them. A hole must be created in them using a needle, then they can be extracted out. Read more about blackhead, whiteheads and blind pimples This is a common problem for the under-eye area. It is a dry, delicate area of the skin. I see it a lot on my clients. Heavy products

Dermatofibromas

This post is all about dermatofibromas and some remedies to help make them look better and ways hide them. It includes my Amazon Affiliate Links to help you find the products I talk about. Q. I have this brown bump on my leg that won't go away. What can I do about it? A. It could be a dermatofibroma. I see them often on my leg waxing clients. A dermatofibroma is a tan to brown benign raised bump more common in women than men and occur commonly on the legs. The bump feels hard under the skin and can be itchy, tender and easily irritated. A doctor will tell you not to worry about it because it's benign, but it's kind of ugly! Dermatofibromas are also called Benign Fibrous Histiocytomas. They are the result of some sort of injury to the skin such as an ingrown hair or a bug bite.  Be careful when shaving because a dermatofibroma may bleed and become sore if nicked. Don't think you can get rid of it by shaving it off. It will be an awful looking sore and will j
