Esqido Gel Eyeliner Pencil Review: Waterproof Eyeliner

I love a good eyeliner, don't you? I recently tried out the Esqido Gel Eyeliner Pencil. Esqido tells me that the benefits of this eyeliner pencil are that it is highly pigmented, it is long lasting with all day wear, it is water resistant/waterproof, and is smudge resistant.

I was excited to test this liner out because a good waterproof eyeliner is something I like to use for my brides and their wedding parties on wedding day.

esqido gel eyeliner black and brown
I tested this liner out for a week to really get a feel for it. It comes in black and brown. The black is very dark. The brown is a nice rich brown. The brown actually works great on my dark brown eyebrows, too. This product is cruelty free, of course, or I wouldn't be trying it!

A gel eyeliner pencil tends to have a softer feel than a regular pencil eyeliner when it is applied. It also should create a smooth line with ease.

The Packaging
This pencil is a plastic twist up pencil. I like the packaging of this liner. It is has many features to keep the product from drying out.

esqido gel eyeliner wrapping
The pencil is packaged in a box. The pencil inside the box is wrapped in plastic which is nice because I find gel liners can dry out and become hard quickly when exposed to the air.

esqido gel eyeliner seal ring
There is also a soft silicone like ring on the pencil that forms an airtight seal when the cap goes on the pencil.

esqido gel eyeliner sharpener
There is a handy sharpener on the end of the pencil. I recommend that the pencil be sharpened before each use to get a well controlled, nice line.

The Application
This pencil feels comfortable when it is applied and it goes on fairly smoothly. Both colors have a lot of pigment and both create a bold line. I am wearing the black liner in the photos.

My eyeshadow is from the Tarte Flirt Palette.

My lipstick is Becca Ultimate Lipstick Love in Blaze.

If you like to smudge your line a bit to soften the look like I do, you have to do it quickly. You have about one minute to smudge it before it sets up. It will start to flake off when you try to smudge it after it has set up.

The Wear
Does it smudge?
This pencil wears pretty well for me. The claim is that it is smudge resistant. They don't say smudge proof. I found this liner was mostly still on at the end of a long work day at the salon.

I always have trouble with any liner staying on at the inner and outer corners of my eyes. I did experience some smudging  and wear in these areas but it was still there at the end of the day.

My skin tends to be on the oily side. Oils dissolve makeup, both waterproof makeup and regular makeup. Skin care creams, concealers and foundation can also dissolve eyeliner. I feel it is impossible to have no smudging at all at the end of the day with a pencil liner unless you have dry skin.

Is it waterproof?
Yes! I find this liner to be waterproof. Go ahead and cry or swim with it. You need an oily makeup remover to take it off easily and gently. Olive oil is my go to oily eye makeup remover. I would have liked using this liner when I was on vacation in Jamaica!

The Ingredients
This liner is free of parabens and other harmful ingredients. I have not experienced any irritation from this product. This product is made in Korea.

Black liner ingredients:
CYCLOPENTASILOXANE, TRIMETHYLSILOXYSILICATE, SYNTHETIC WAX, C30-50 ALCOHOLS, POLYMETHYLSILSESQUIOXANE, SILICA, POLYBUTENE, MICROCRYSTALLINE WAX, ACETYLATE GLYCOL STEARATE, TRIETHOXYCAPRYLYLSILANE, MICA (CI 77019), IRON OXIDES (CI 77499), FERRIC FERROCYANIDE (CI 77510)

Brown liner ingredients:
CYCLOPENTASILOXANE, TRIMETHYLSILOXYSILICATE, SYNTHETIC WAX, C30-50 ALCOHOLS, POLYMETHYLSILSESQUIOXANE, SILICA, MICROCRYSTALLINE WAX, ACETYLATE GLYCOL STEARATE, TRIETHOXYCAPRYLYLSILANE, ALUMINUM HYDROXIDE, MICA (CI 77019), TITANIUM DIOXIDE (CI 77891), IRON OXIDES (CI 77499, CI 77491, CI 77492)

I found that the Esquio Gel Eyeliner does live up to it's claims. It's worth a try if you are in the market for a waterproof eyeliner. Just remember to work quickly with it to deliberately smudge and soften the line. Also, expect a small amount of wear after a long day. You can purchase it from esqido.com or Amazon for $16.00.

White Bumps Under Eyes: Milia

Have you noticed that you have little white looking bumps under your eyes? Some people call it chicken skin because the bumps look like plucked chicken skin. 🐔 Most likely those little white bumps are milia. They can feel hard or pearly. These bumps are not acne. Milia can occur when dead skin cells become trapped beneath the outer layer of skin. Keratin becomes trapped and builds up. A small benign cyst can form which is the milia. It's a cyst!?! Don't let that word scare you. They are harmless, but unwanted bumps.  They can occur on any area of the skin that tends to be on the dry side. They cannot be squeezed out like a blackhead or pimple because they have no opening. A layer of skin covers them. A hole must be created in them using a needle, then they can be extracted out. Read more about blackhead, whiteheads and blind pimples This is a common problem for the under-eye area. It is a dry, delicate area of the skin. I see it a lot on my clients. Heavy products

Dermatofibromas

This post is all about dermatofibromas and some remedies to help make them look better and ways hide them. It includes my Amazon Affiliate Links to help you find the products I talk about. Q. I have this brown bump on my leg that won't go away. What can I do about it? A. It could be a dermatofibroma. I see them often on my leg waxing clients. A dermatofibroma is a tan to brown benign raised bump more common in women than men and occur commonly on the legs. The bump feels hard under the skin and can be itchy, tender and easily irritated. A doctor will tell you not to worry about it because it's benign, but it's kind of ugly! Dermatofibromas are also called Benign Fibrous Histiocytomas. They are the result of some sort of injury to the skin such as an ingrown hair or a bug bite.  Be careful when shaving because a dermatofibroma may bleed and become sore if nicked. Don't think you can get rid of it by shaving it off. It will be an awful looking sore and will j
